The central idea behind Marcato en Cuatro is to shine a light on the people I call “local heroes”. People who contribute to their local Tango communities in different ways.
Paolo was one of those heroes in Frankfurt. He contributed a lot to shaping the community we have today, and he’s also someone I admire, not just for his dancing, but even more for his community leadership skills. So much so that I’ve even written a blog post inspired by him in the past.
So when I started thinking about potential guests for the podcast, he was naturally one of the first people I contacted.
His story might sound familiar to many men. At least, I found parts of it surprisingly similar to my own. And the challenge he talks about will definitely resonate with many Tango leaders.
It’s funny how the challenges that once seemed so difficult can bring a smile to our faces when we look back at them.
So if you’re just starting your Tango journey, especially as a leader, remember this: we’ve all been there.
And if you’ve been dancing for a while, perhaps Paolo’s story will remind you of your own beginnings.
So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Paolo’s story!
