Marcato en Cuatro is a podcast where each episode follows the same rhythm.

One Tango Dancer.
One Story.
In Four Questions.
Four Beats.

Every episode is a short conversation (approx. 30 minutes) built around four questions exploring the guest’s personal journey in Tango.

Beat 1 – The Beginning: Every Tango journey starts somewhere. How did it all begin?

Beat 2 – The Challenge: Every journey has its obstacles. What was the biggest challenge along the way?

Beat 3 – The Breakthrough: What helped you overcome it? What did you learn?

Beat 4 – The Surprise: A question from another dancer, passed on from a previous guest.

The idea of the podcast is simple. To highlight local heroes (sometimes even global ones).

Dancers who contribute to their communities, whether through teaching, organising, DJing or simply through long-term presence and commitment.

People who make a difference. People who inspire others. People who act as role models in their communities.

They don’t necessarily have to be famous or extraordinary dancers. They just need to have a story worth sharing.

And I believe there are plenty of those stories out there.

I have two hopes for this podcast.

My first hope is that you, as a Tango dancer at any point in your journey, will discover real, relatable stories from people you might actually watch, dance with or look up to in your local milonga.

My second hope is that outsiders, people who haven’t yet discovered Tango, will get a glimpse of what this dance is really about. That they will see that Tango is for everyone: everyday people from all sorts of different backgrounds, each with their own story.

If you want to support this quest, you can do one of three things:

Suggest a local hero. Know a dancer from your community whose story deserves to be heard? Let me know!
Submit a question. Your question might become the surprise question in a future episode.
Spread the word. Share an episode with a friend who might relate to a particular story.

Am I asking for much?

In any case, thank you in advance for joining me on this journey.

And who knows? Maybe the next story will be yours.
